The shift to fuel cell powertrains is a pocketbook issue


“If we rewind back 15 years ago, fuel cells and batteries were neck-and-neck in discussions about the next generation of powertrains,” says Ryan Robinson, Automotive Research Lead at Deloitte. Today, the automotive industry has broadly decided to develop battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and hydrogen fuel cell EVs (FCEVs) have taken a backseat.
